Cookies and local storage

Updated 23 October 2026.

We use local storage to remember your privacy choice. Statistics, Google Maps and Vimeo videos remain off until you actively allow each service. There are no preselected optional choices. Visiting the website does not constitute consent.

Necessary storage

The browser localStorage key awb-privacy-v1 contains only your privacy choices, a version number and the choice and expiry times. It contains no contact information and is not used for advertising. The choice lasts for up to 180 days and return visits do not extend it. If a valid choice is missing, expired or cannot be stored, all optional services remain off.

WordPress and website security and language functions may use necessary cookies, for example for language selection, protection or administrator sign-in. These are not used for visitor statistics or advertising.

Statistics – only after your choice

Allowing statistics loads Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 for page visits and neutral contact-action counts. Cookies such as _ga and _ga_KZM6K7L5ME distinguish visits and sessions. They are configured for up to 180 days without automatic renewal. Analytics user and event data retention is two months; aggregated reports may remain longer. No contact details, link targets, copied text or form contents are sent. Google Ads and Meta remain paused and advertising consent remains denied.

Google Maps – a separate choice

An interactive Google map loads only if you allow maps and the page contains a map module. Google then receives your IP address and may use its own storage as described in Google’s privacy policy. Otherwise a local address placeholder is shown. Statistics consent does not enable maps.

Adobe Fonts – direct font delivery without cookies

The website fonts load directly from Adobe on every visit, including when you reject optional services. Adobe states that the font delivery service sets or uses no cookies and that your IP address is transmitted for delivery but is not stored. The service also receives website and font/project information for delivery and licensing. This is separate from statistics, maps and Vimeo choices. See our privacy policy for the legal basis and your rights.

Vimeo videos – a separate choice

Vimeo players and Vimeo-hosted video files stay blocked until video consent. Embedded players use dnt=1, which limits tracking but may still allow essential security cookies and does not remove existing Vimeo cookies. See Vimeo’s player cookie information. Local video files remain available without this choice. An earlier choice without video consent cannot enable Vimeo.

Change or withdraw

Use the permanent ”Privacy settings” button on the page. ”Reject all” and ”Allow all” are both directly available, and you can also save individual services. Withdrawal removes the website’s own Analytics cookies and reloads the page to stop optional services. Changes also apply to other open tabs. Manage cookies on suppliers’ own domains in your browser. You can also delete localStorage and cookies in your browser’s site settings; this prompts a new choice.

For the responsible organisation, contact information and your rights, see our privacy policy.
